”To exist but not be seen” has been the guiding principle in the development of EvoAir A30T EPP EvoControl MPO G3 in Magnelis. The result is one of the most compact ventilation units on the market for apartments and small houses. With a reversible left and right design, a low weight of only 25 kg and a construction height of 53.5 cm, installation is easy - even where space is limited.

The above are functional cooker hoods that are adapted for this ventilation unit. They are designed for residential ventilation in houses and flats and are equipped with a control function for the unit.

The air flow is regulated via the cooker hood damper. The damper has a timer function that automatically switches off the boost function after 60 minutes or when the knob is reset.

  • Item number 340167: Cooker hood with control function for the unit, option for forced operation and timer control of the damper.
  • Item number 340166: Cooker hood with control function for the unit, option for forced operation and timer control of the damper.
  • Item number 340036: Extendable cooker hood adapted for central ventilation, with electronic switch, LED lighting and motorised damper. Does not have its own motor but is connected to the ventilation system. White front strip included; other colours available as options.

Procedure

Installation and commissioning shall be carried out by qualified personnel with the necessary professional knowledge to ensure correct operation.

Right or left configuration is determined by how the unit angle is mounted. The unit is attached to the wall using the supplied mounting bracket.

For kitchen installation

For kitchen installations, the unit and cooker hood are installed as separate units, which simplifies the work. The cooker hood is connected to the unit with a 125 mm hose (not included). The electrical connectors are connected on the underside of the unit.

The minimum construction height between the top of the cooker hood and the top of the unit is 620 mm. This mounting method provides more space for duct adaptation above the unit and enables flexible mounting with a lower lifting height.

Basic flow must not be taken via the cooker hood. A separate exhaust air outlet must be fitted in the kitchen.

At design outdoor temperatures (DUT) lower than -20 °C shell preheater (accessory) installed in A30T EPP G3 for safe operation.

Electricity connection

The unit is internally wired and comes with a cord set. The plug is connected to a grounded socket 1×230 V, 10 A slow-blow fuse. The control panel is connected to the unit via a 5-metre flat cable with quick connectors.

When installing with a cooker hood, connect the hood's electrical connectors to the underside of the unit. Connectors for lighting and control signals are also connected directly to the unit's connections.

Commissioning

When commissioning, air flows must be adjusted so that the exhaust air flow is 10-15% higher than the supply air flow (negative pressure) for safe operation. Applies to all operating modes.

Important to consider when installing

  • Installation and commissioning shall be carried out by a person with sufficient professional knowledge to ensure proper functioning.
  • If the system is not commissioned immediately, all duct connections should be sealed inside the unit to prevent moist or cold air from entering and causing moisture damage.
  • All operating modes shall be adjusted (Spruce, Comfort and convenience and Forcing).
  • The control panel should be positioned so that the user has good access and overview in the event of an alarm.
  • The user/manager of the installation shall be informed of the location of the control panel and its functions.
  • The installer shall hand over the manuals and the guarantee certificate to the user/manager of the installation.
  • The product must be registered at www.acetec.se for the guarantee to apply.
  • Original filters must be used during the warranty period for the warranty to be valid.

EvoControl MPO

EvoControl MPO offers stable and reliable control via a wired network connection. The system is connected to a cloud-based solution with a responsive design that automatically adapts to the device you are using – whether it is a mobile phone, tablet or computer.

The EvoControl MPO consists of the following:

Display

1.4” OLED display with three physical buttons. LED for visual status indication (see colour codes in technical manual).

Installation of the display

The control panel should be installed in a warm, weather-protected and easily accessible space for easy inspection and quick attention to any climate alarms. Avoid placement in humid environments or where condensation may occur.

  1. Mount the control panel on a flat surface.
  2. Pull the cable upwards, downwards or straight backwards as required.
  3. When pulling the cable downwards: unscrew the back cover and turn it over.
  4. Connect the supplied cable (crossed modular cable) to the connector on the underside of the panel.
  5. Open the flaps on the front of the control panel and screw the panel to the base.
  6. Close the hatches again.

Change operating modes

Step 1)

To change the operating mode, select the row and press Enter.

Step 2)

Select new operating mode with Up arrow and Arrow down and confirm with Enter.

Adjust air flow

Step 1)

Please select Menu and pressure Enter.

Step 2)

Step down to Preferences and pressure Enter.

Step 3)

Enter authorisation code 6374 (8990 for advanced) and press Enter. Enter one digit at a time using the up arrow key.  and Arrow down and confirmed by Enter. Confirm the code you have entered by pressing Enter when “-” is selected.

Please select Fan and pressure Enter.

Step 5)

Select the flow you want to adjust and press Enter.

Step 6)

Increase or decrease the value with the Up arrow or Arrow down and then press Enter.

Step 7)

Confirm by selecting Save = Yes and pressure Enter.

Repeat steps 5-7 to change the parameters you need.

- For the A30T with cooker hood, parameter 470 “Priority order” under “Functions” may need to be changed!
- A30T with cooker hood 251, select “Last input”.
- For A30T with cooker hood 392, select “Prio”.

Operation and Maintenance

Before working with the unit

Only authorised personnel should operate and service the unit. This instruction applies to all units and describes operating principles, maintenance, troubleshooting and safety measures. The aim is to ensure a long service life, high operational reliability and energy-efficient operation.

The unit contains electrical and moving parts. Despite inbuilt protection, there is a residual risk of electric shock, crushing and cutting during service and maintenance. Always follow the instructions.

General about the unit

The unit is intended for comfort ventilation and air treatment. Operating temperatures, humidity limits and environmental requirements vary depending on the model. The unit should be located in a dry and easily accessible environment. Avoid operation in corrosive or explosive environments.

Service intervals and inspection schedule

Carry out servicing at least twice a year or more often at high load. Supplement with intervals for specific components as below:

  • Filter byte: every 3-6 months or after a defined number of operating hours.
  • Checking seals and mouldings: each service.
  • Checking fan bearings and motors: annually.
  • Cleaning of rotor or heat exchanger: annually.
  • Control of sensors and control systems: annually.

Service procedure

The unit contains electrical and moving parts. Despite inbuilt protection, there is a residual risk of electric shock, crushing and cutting during service and maintenance. Always follow the instructions.
  1. Switch off the power to the unit via fuse or plug before servicing.
  2. Secure the unit against accidental re-connection during work.
  3. Wait until all moving parts have come to a complete stop before starting work.
  4. Use personal protective equipment such as protective gloves and goggles. When working with dust, wear a respirator.
  5. Mark the unit with a warning sign during servicing.
  6. Open inspection hatches or panels (e.g. loosen screws with a suitable Allen key).
  7. Take old filters straight out of their mounts.
  8. Vacuum the inside and clean surfaces with a mild detergent (avoid strong solvents).
  9. To facilitate internal cleaning, fans fitted with electrical connectors can be removed from the unit (document electrical connections before dismantling components).
  10. If necessary, clean the rotor or heat exchanger unit according to the recommended method.
  11. Check seals, gaskets and mouldings.
  12. Fit new filters and reassemble components correctly. Original filters can be ordered at www.acetec.se
  13. Check that everything is secure and close the hatches.
  14. Reinstall all guards and ensure proper operation before putting the unit into service.

After completion of the service

  1. Reconnect the power.
  2. Switch on the unit.
  3. Check air flow, fan speed and pressure balance.
  4. Review alarm logs and any error indications.
  5. Listen for sounds or vibrations.
  6. Check operation in different modes (high/low, bypass, etc.).

Troubleshooting and malfunctions

In case of a malfunction, check the following points before contacting customer support:

  • No operation: check fuses, power supply, plug.
  • Low airflow: check filters, fan motors and belt tension.
  • Abnormal sound or vibration: check fasteners, bearings and balance.
  • Error indication from sensors: check the cable, sensor and connections.
  • Control system failure: check communication and parameters.

Documentation and spare parts

All service measures must be documented in a service log with the date, signature and measures taken. Only use original spare parts and original filters to maintain the warranty.
